Heated 14" roller for fiber matting and ink smoothing right on the press.
Overview
The M&R HotHead Roller 14 is a heat module for M&R's HotHead Fabric Compression System. It rolls a heated 2"-diameter cylinder across the print to apply heat and pressure on press, for fiber matting, smoothing ink and other specialty finishes.
The Roller attaches to a squeegee mounting bar with two manual squeegee clamps and is run from the HotHead control module on the printhead arm, which sets temperature and heater type on its LCD display (the control module is sold separately). Thermocouples and pre-programmed logic hold a constant temperature anywhere from room temperature up to 400°F, and small cooling fans keep the outer skin of the module at a safe operating temperature.
A military-grade electrical connector, high-cycle flexible wiring and a long-life flexible sheath connect the Roller to the control unit, and two small controllers adjust the up/down travel speed of the squeegee chopper bar for consistent results.
